Eis o Graal, nosso Graal! O mundo é nosso, vamos a ele!... O mundo é nosso, não há que ter medo!... O mundo é nosso, vamos com ele brincar!...

SCENIC WORLD

Beirut is an American band. It began as the solo musical project of 23-year-old Santa Fe, New Mexico native Zachary Francis Condon, and later evolved into a band led by Condon. Their first performances were in May 2006, to support the release of their debut album,Gulag Orke Star The music combines elements of Eastern European and folk with Western pop music.

Discografia:

The Joys of Losing Weight

Gulag Orkestar ( 2006)

The Flying Club Cup ( 2007)

Live at the Music Hall of Williamsburg (2009)

"One of 2006's most unexpected indie success stories, Beirut combines a wide variety of styles, from pre-rock pop music and Eastern European gypsy styles to the alternately plaintive and whimsical indie folk of the Decemberists and the lo-fi, homemade psychedelic experimentation of Neutral Milk Hotel. That the central figure in all of this is a teenager from Albuquerque, NM, makes Beirut's debut album, Gulag Orkestar, all the more surprising."

Beirut, the capital and largest city of Lebanon with a population of over 2.1 million as of 2007.

Daydream Nation

"Push it away the world looks red
People with fish eyes
The ground sucks
Walk on my fingertips
Displacing the fog
The weight of my body
Is too much to bear
The memory drained
The life from the doll
The ocean of insects
Moved like a sheet
The immovable fact
Buried my mind
In a horsehair coat
In a pile
On the floor"
Sonic Youth (USA):

Thurston Moore - Voz, Guitarra e Génio
Lee Ranaldo - Voz e Guitarra
Kim Gordon - Baixo, Guitarra e Voz
Mark Ibold - Baixo
Steve Shelley - Bateria

Discografia:
1992 - Dirty
1990 - Goo
1987 - Sister
1986 - EVOL
1983 - Confusion is Sex

"Sonic Youth were one of the most unlikely success stories of underground American rock in the '80s. Sonic Youth rarely rocked, though they were inspired directly by hardcore punk, post-punk, and no wave. Instead, their dissonance, feedback, and alternate tunings created a new sonic landscape, one that redefined what rock guitar could do."
